Tangy Venison and Noodles

Tender bite-sized slices of venison cooked with egg noodles and covered in a tangy creamy sauce. If you like pasta and spicy foods, this is a must try! It’s so filling and has only 313 calories per serving, which is 1.5 cups. Did someone say diet-friendly?

This is another one of my “empty the pantry” creations that turned out well. I sliced an eye of round into tiny bite-sized pieces and marinated it in Worcestershire sauce for a few hours, making it tender. For the sauce, I just started pulling spices out of the cupboard that I thought would be good and it was. I love it when throw-together creations turn out well.

Tangy Venison and Noodles

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs venison, thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. olive oil
  • 32 oz beef broth
  • 4 cups egg noodles
  • 4 oz sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp. ground turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp. ground thyme
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. corn starch
  • 1 Tbsp. water

Instructions

  1. Cut the venison across the grain and into small bite-sized pieces. Place in a bag or bowl and add 2 Tbsp. of Worcestershire sauce and let it soak for a few hours.
  2. Preheat a large skillet or kettle to medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
  3. Drain the Worcestershire sauce from the venison. Add it to the skillet and fry just until it's lightly browned.
  4. Turn the heat to medium low and add all of the spices and stir well. Then add the beef broth and egg noodles, and let it cook until the noodles are done.
  5. Turn the heat down to low and add the sour cream, stir well.
  6. In a bowl, put 1 Tbsp. of corn starch and 1 Tbsp. of water and mix well and then add it to the venison and noodles and stir.
  7. Let it cook for another minute. If it's not thick enough add another batch of corn starch and water.
